Hortis Holland is the first office in the Netherlands that deals with plant breeders’ rights. Our company brings together legal knowledge of plant breeders’ rights and practical knowledge about the marketing of new varieties. Hortis Holland has been active in this field since 1997.

For our customers, we arrange for the protection of plant breeders’ rights, where new varieties are concerned, in more than 66 countries. For example, this could mean applications for Dutch plant breeders’ rights, applications for European Community plant breeders’ rights, applications for plant breeders’ rights in UPOV member states and US Plant patent applications.

In addition we draft licence contracts between client and licensee, take care of the collection of royalties and carry out checks on location at the licensees’ premises and in the marketplace. We also act against companies which illegally propagate, produce or trade in our clients’ varieties.
